TONE x Jamal Smith

Tone is awesome, love this new video with Skateboarder Jamal Smith.

Sway - The Delivery 2

Sway really went to town on the 'Game Over' beat, which created a nice buzz going into his comeback mixtape 'The Delivery 2'. The once Mercury nominated rapper is hard, there's no denying it, so give it a listen HERE.

Tinashe - Good Times (Live @ Bush Hall)

Shot this at Tinashé's show at the beautiful Bush Hall in West London. So if you haven't seen him live yet, I hope this gives you a pretty good idea of what goes down. Look out for even more projects with Island Records' Tinashé.

The Streets - Trust Me

Mike Skinner vanished for a year, literally, threw away his phone and left the internet for 365 days before coming back on the 365th day to drop viral videos via his website. It's all very exciting. Yesterday he released a video for an old song called 'Trust Me'. Brilliant.

Last Friday.

"The G-Shock Sessions held at the memorable East London store. The night was started with a screening of 2 short films by Luke Monaghan and then moved to performances from Shadez The Misfit, Fumin and many more." Have a butchers.

Bongo Boy x Ash Roth

Last week Bongo Boy of itsbongoboy.com stopped by the Universal Music office to meet up with Asher Roth. In this video Roth talks about his family, his upcoming album 'The Spaghetti Tree', Marijuana and more.

Screening @ G-Shock East

Thanks to the brilliant photographer Ollie for passing through my screening last Friday night as we shut down the G-Shock East store to show a couple of short films I shot in New York last month, watch those HERE.

Jamie Foxx ft Drake

After a leak making its rounds along the music blogosphere, the “reference” track Drake sang over now comes into fruition. The song now highlights serenades from not only Drake but Jamie Foxx as well, both of which are no strangers to each other’s work. Listen to it HERE.

Falcon Motorcycles

I don't even like motorbikes that much, but, this is beautiful. Travis Shinn produces this video for Ian Barry’s Kestrel Falcon motorcycle, show in all its glory at the LA River. The Kestrel was custom built around the engine of a unit Triumph. Cylinders, frame, exhaust, tanks, handlebars, levers, seat… everything except half the engine was designed and made in-house. Brilliant.

Wiz Khalifa ft Juicy J

I introduced you to Wiz Khalifa a couple of weeks ago, now Wiz lets loose a new track off his Twitter-account. Titled “In My Car (Tha Puff Bus)” the Pittsburgh-native teams up with Memphis’ own Juicy J to create a nonchalant ode to the herbal way of life. Check it out HERE. Great record!

Kanye West 'Runaway'

Everyone is talking about the Kanye West film 'Runaway' which premiered last night on MTV and BET. I was lucky enough to see it last month at his London screening, and as amazing as it is visually, the story is awful. Doesn't matter too much though as there is plenty of new Kanye music in it to bring it back up to being watchable. Enjoy.

Giggs - Out There

Been meaning to post this... Giggs' hood video for 'Out There' (don't click play if you are easily offended, swear words and stuff), except it's half in the hood and half in the countryside at some of the summers festivals. Big up SBTV for this one.

Madbury Club A/W

I feature in the video version of The Madbury Club's Autumn/Winter lookbook. Have fond memories of this overcast day in Long Island, New York State, and it's always a pleasure to be asked to take part in stuff for Madbury, it's an amazing online publication. So check me modeling some nice clothes including a G-Shock in the video and picture above. I shall post up when the full spread is released.

More Jessie J

I sat down with singer/songwriter Jessie J this morning, done an interview for an upcoming project then proceeded to spud her for rocking a G-Shock (pictured above). I featured her on this very blog last week, but for those of you that are slow, watch this video and get up to speed on her bloody amazing voice.

This Thursday

Secret Wars Semi-Finals this Thursday in East London. London Vs Birmingham. Details to follow, in the meantime here's a little throwback teaser.

Rihanna Ft Drake

New release from everybody's favourite Rude Girl, Rihanna. I have literally played this song about 50 times and I'm still not bored, I think this is a smash hit record. Drakes verse is delivered perfectly and given the history these two artists have together, the gossip blogs are going to eat it up. Listen HERE.

Tinchy TV Episode 4

Episode 4 of Tinchy TV as Tinchy Stryder shoots his new video 'Champions' and takes care of some other business. Worth a watch!

Black & Yellow

If you haven't heard of Wiz Khalifa yet, well, you're pretty late. He's a 23 year old MC from Pittsburg and has been creating a buzz on the internets throughout 2010. This is his new track 'Black & Yellow' named after the colours of Pittsburg & 'The Taylor Gang', it's due for huge chart success in the U.S, maybe he can blow over here... We'll see.

Q&A with: Patrick Odai

Patrick Odai is a student, blogger & photographer, he also occasionally contributes to U.S based online magazine, The Madbury Club. I asked him some not so important questions and got him to appear in a photo-shoot in sunny West London, enjoy...

What would a typical day for Patrick entail?
Student stuff, I'm not willing to tell you what that entails. I also do emails, indulge in tweeting lunch, food in general. Work too I guess!?

What's your favourite colour?
Don't have one. I guess it changes every day.

You've photographed some cool people, took some decent snaps, who and what has been your favourite?
Too many favourites but a memorable one has to be at "Private Beach" in Queens, New York. I was shooting some stuff with Luke Monaghan & Phillip Annand, it was the day Michael Jackson died, found out about M.J death whilst the sunset. Perfect.

What are you wearing in the above photo shoot?
Uniqlo Tee, they make such simple stuff of such nice quality. My Good Wood x Chance Infinity Africa chain, a dope G-Shock timepiece and a pair of Jordan 3 Retro's.

Find more Patrick on twitter and his photography here.

Road To Disc-Overy

Knowing Tinie for a couple of years it has honestly been humbling, exciting and frequently inspiring to see his ascent to the top of the album and singles charts. But most of all, doing so in a dignified and mature manor. I think this documentary shows that really well, nice work.

Greg Mishka @ Chelsea Market

For anybody who’s ever visited the Mishka flagship store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the interior is adorned with kitchsy and off-base items from banners to masks and toys. These one of a kind items are often found through Mishka founder Greg Rivera’s various trips through local weekly swap meets and flea markets. Take a trip with Greg on one of his trips which are the catalyst for some of his inspiration.

Virgin Galactic

Watch this exclusive footage of the world’s first commercial manned spaceship, VSS Enterprise, achieving its first free piloted flight yesterday in Mojave CA. Well done Richard Branson and the team, amazing achievement, watching the aircraft land is crazy!

Tinashe Session

First in a couple of projects I'm working on with Island Records' wonder-boy Tinashe. Look out for his new video which I'm directing. His voice is just incredible, I hope you like this.

Influencers

Interesting little trailer, where a wealth of New York-based creatives are interviewed to each offer their own respective insights into what it means to be influential and how that notion is achieved. Appearances include Rob Stone (Cornerstone), Jon Cohen (Cornerstone), jeffstaple (Staple Design), Josh Peskowitz, Deirdre Maloney (BPMW), Dao-Yi Chow (Public School NYC), David Gensler (The KDU), Sky Gellatly (Team Epiphany), and Damon Crepin-Burr (FullSix NY). The full feature will be available starting October 27th.

Alex Clare

After a few listens this song will really make an impact on your ears, to me this sounds like the future of music in the UK, the natural progression from the urban/dance free-for-all that is currently running a moc. 'Up All Night' is produced by Diplo & Switch & the vocals come from Alex CLare, signed to Island Records. Click HERE to listen.

Tyler, The Creator

Really feeling Tyler, a young crazy rapper with a mass appeal. He could very well be big. This track is called 'French' off of his 'B*stard' EP. I reccomend you check out 'VCR' too, the video is vile, but it's worth a watch.

Monday, 4 October 2010

Jessie J

She's going to be huge, she's got an amazing voice and she's British. So of course I have to feature her on this humble blog. She co-wrote 'Party In The USA', you know, that annoying smash hit Miley Cyrus record. And she's tipped for big things. Click HERE to listen to her first single.

Power SNL

This past weekend, Kanye West performed well-received single “Power” on NBC’s variety show Saturday Night Live. The live performance featured an passionate performance from West who was seen clad in all-red with a throng of leotard clad women on the stage. While the original version of Power featured a diss of SNL, the line was subsequently omitted. Kanye West’s next album is rumored to release in the middle of November.
